If your group includes children, please enter the code “CHILD” followed by the number of children. For example, if there is 1 child, use “CHILD1.” If there are 6 children, use “CHILD6.” If your group includes both students and children, please use the “CHILD” discount code to receive the highest discount.

Does the guided walking tour include college entrance tickets?

Yes. Our classic guided walking tour includes college entry, though access may vary daily. Our Cambridge walking tour includes visiting the grounds and chapel of Pembroke College, depending on opening hours. We also offer an upgrade option that includes King’s College and King’s College Chapel admission. If you wish to visit specific colleges, we recommend booking a private tour, as we can arrange entry based on each college’s schedule.

What is the maximum group size for each tour?

Our punting boats can carry up to 12 passengers, while our guided walking tours allow up to 20 participants per group. We take pride in ensuring our tours are enjoyable and safe, keeping groups small for comfort and a premium experience.

In what language do the punting chauffeurs and walking guides give their explanations?

The punting tour is conducted in English. The guided walking tour can be in English, Cantonese, or Mandarin.

Do I need to book my tour in advance?

You can purchase tickets on-site on the day of your visit, but online booking is significantly cheaper. Moreover, by selecting your time slot in advance online, you can skip long queues on the day of the tour. During peak season, waiting time at ticket booths can be around 3 hours. Online booking also helps you plan your trip efficiently. Therefore, we strongly recommend booking online in advance.

During the punting tour, will I be able to hear the guide clearly?

All our punters are professionally trained to ensure their voices can be heard clearly by every guest on board. Even if you are seated at the far end, you will be able to hear them. If not, feel free to ask them to speak louder.

Can I bring my dog along on the tour?

For our punting tours, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join at no extra charge. Unfortunately, Cambridge colleges do not allow dogs inside, so they cannot join walking tours.

Can I leave my personal belongings with you for safekeeping?

Yes, you can store items such as suitcases, strollers, or wheelchairs at our check-in counter during your tour. However, we are not responsible for any loss or damage.

Do your punts have access for wheelchair users?

Yes, you may bring your own food and drinks. Please use plastic cups instead of glass ones, and be mindful of others during shared tours so as not to affect their experience.

Can I punt by myself instead of having a chauffeur?

Sorry, we do not offer self-punting. If you have no experience punting, we recommend joining our guided punting tour instead, where you can relax and enjoy the scenery, food, and drinks while our knowledgeable guide rows for you. Self-punting boats can hold up to five people, whereas our guided boats are larger (up to twelve passengers), more comfortable, and provide historical commentary.

What is the age requirement for passengers on the punting tour?

There is no specific age requirement for this tour, but children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult over 18.

It is generally safe and there is no minimum age requirement. Life jackets are available for added safety if requested 24 hours in advance via email.

Is it easy to get on and off the punt?

Am I allowed to smoke during the tour?

Smoking is only permitted during private tours, and only with the guide’s consent.

Where can I park my car?

Grand Arcade and Castle Hill car parks are located near Cambridge city centre and offer secure parking. Park and Ride facilities are also recommended — you can park outside the city and take convenient transport to the centre, which helps reduce congestion and emissions.

Do your chauffeurs and guides have in-depth knowledge of Cambridge and the University?

Our team consists of current Cambridge University students, graduates, and local experts with deep knowledge of the city’s history and university culture.

What is the best time of day to go punting?

We recommend punting in the morning or at sunset for a calm and gentle experience. For a livelier atmosphere, choose the afternoon peak hours.

Will I get seasick or motion sickness on the boat?

Don’t worry — the river current is weak, the water is shallow, and the boats are stable.

Should I tip the chauffeur or tour guide?

Our punters and guides appreciate tips, but tipping is not required. All tips go directly to your guide or punter in full.

Are blankets provided on the boat?

In cold weather, blankets are provided on board. You may also bring warm drinks to enjoy during the tour.

Can we stop and get off during the punting tour to visit the colleges?

No, our boats do not stop along the route, as the landmarks are all private university properties inaccessible by foot or bus. Our punting tour is a round trip returning to the same point of departure. However, if you prefer a one-way journey, we can arrange it for you on the opposite side of the river—please email us 24 hours in advance so we can prepare.
